OUR BENEFICIARIES
The primary goal of the Half Full Triathlon is to use raise money and awareness to support the young adult cancer fight. We will achieve this goal by allocating 100% of net proceeds from this event to the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults and the LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance.

The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults is a leading voice in the young adult cancer movement. For the past eleven years, the organization has been enhancing lives by supporting, educating and connecting young adults, and their loved ones, affected by cancer. A three-time cancer survivor by age 20, Doug Ulman and his family quickly learned how few support resources and services existed for young adult cancer patients and survivors. Frustrated by this void and motivated by the desire to help others, the Ulman family founded the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults. Together with its network of friends, survivors, and other support organizations in the cancer community, the Ulman Cancer Fund envisions a world in which all young adults affected by cancer will have the support and access to resources that they need to thrive.
Each year, nearly 70,000 young adults between the ages of 15 and 39 are diagnosed with cancer.
In contrast to those younger and older, survival rates for young adults have not increased since 1975, possibly due to factors such as lack of insurance, less participation in clinical trials and delayed diagnoses.
In addition, young survivors often are caught between the worlds of pediatric and adult oncology. They may face a variety of unique long-term effects that will need to be addressed over their lifetimes, such as: reentry into school or the workforce, insurance coverage issues, infertility as a result of treatment, neurocognitive effects or secondary malignancies.
The LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance is a coalition of organizations with the goal to improve the survival rates and quality of life for young adults with cancer between the ages of 15 and 40. The Alliance is committed to promoting research and the investigation of the problem, serving as a voice for the issue and promoting effective solutions.
We formed the LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance with the knowledge that unity is strength - by working together we can raise awareness and effect positive change for young adults with cancer.
